It Started With a Career That Was Not Wrong, But Was Not Right
Before personal training, Troy worked as an electrician. It was honest work. It paid the bills. But he was tired of the grind and the quiet insecurities that came with feeling like he was not building toward his full potential. He did not want to stay in a lane that did not challenge his curiosity or reflect who he was becoming.
At the same time, he was already deep into training. He was playing hockey and getting into mountain biking, and he wanted to build workout routines that would actually improve his performance. He did not just want to lift weights. He wanted to understand leverage, mechanics, power transfer, and recovery.
A close friend who was a powerlifting champion taught him real technique. Not ego lifting. Real mechanics. Real structure. Being tall, Troy was at a disadvantage in certain lifts. Leverage matters. But instead of seeing that as a setback, he treated it like a blueprint. He started studying angles, joint loading, positioning, and how small adjustments created massive improvements in strength and safety.
That is when it clicked. If he could learn how to engineer strength for himself, he could help others do the same. And if he could build a business around that knowledge, even better.

Clinical Foundation, Not Certification Mill
Troy deepened his foundation through a 2.5-year clinical, medically supervised exercise specialist apprenticeship with Infofit. That environment forced precision. Anatomy. Physiology. Movement assessment. Working with real-world conditions, not just pain-free athletes.
During that time, he trained and worked alongside Dr. Brian Martin at Ener-Changes, which sharpened his clinical understanding and deepened his respect for long-term structural health. This was not a weekend certification. It was years of supervised, hands-on work with people whose bodies had real limitations and real problems that needed real solutions.
That clinical background is what separates Troy from trainers who learned from YouTube and a textbook. He understands why a movement hurts, not just how to program around it. He understands the difference between a muscle that is weak and a joint that is unstable. He understands how hormones, sleep, stress, and nutrition interact with training response. And he has been applying that understanding for over 20 years.
Then Everything Changed
While working with Executive Lifestyles, Troy was introduced to the Gravity Training System. It was a turning point.
The system allowed him to apply everything he understood about biomechanics and leverage in a scalable, joint-friendly platform that worked for beginners and high performers alike. It was not flashy. It was intelligent. Clinical foundation met functional performance.
Troy has been building his programming around the Gravity Training System ever since. He is the only trainer in downtown Vancouver using it as the primary training method in every session. It is the reason clients with replaced joints, chronic pain, post-surgical limitations, and decades of wear can train safely and build real strength. And it is the reason athletes and high performers choose TSquared for training that pushes them without breaking them down.
What 20 Years and 350+ Clients Taught Me
When Troy began training real people, professionals, parents, injured athletes, people in their 40s and 50s trying to feel athletic again, he saw what strength really does.
It restores confidence. It reduces pain. It improves posture. It increases energy. It changes how someone shows up in their business and relationships.
Pre-pandemic, Troy’s average client stayed with him 4 to 8 years. That longevity is not built on hype. It is built on trust and results.
This is not about six-week transformations. It is about building resilient humans. And that career pivot from electrician to performance coach was not random. It was intentional. Troy chose to move from wiring buildings to engineering bodies.
